The door is open for university!

One of the best ways to get to know a university and find out about its atmosphere and courses is to visit its annual Open Day.

An Open Day is a special day where the campus is open to everyone, and there will be snippets of classes, lectures demonstrations, events and activities all to help potential students decide if it is a place they can imagine spending the next few years of their education.

The University of Technology Sydney (UTS) is hosting its next Open Day on Saturday 25 August 2018 from 9am-4pm. And with more than 200 talks and activities, there really is something for everyone to enjoy!

Here are some highlights of the exciting program which includes course information, entertainment and talks to attend:

    • See the talented Bachelor of Design in Animation students demonstrate their incredible live drawing skills. They may even be able to draw you!
    • Discover how to jump start a career. Hear from students and Engineering and IT industry leaders about internships at UTS, and how to gain valuable experience before graduating.
    • Immerse yourself in the work of UTS Architecture and Design students through virtual reality, and see the digital maker space in action with 3D printing and laser cutting demonstration.
    • Learn about creative writing and discover how students apply their skills across different genres and narratives while learning from renowned writers and publishers.
    • Investigate algae and how to identify it using a new App. Test to see if it might be a toxic blue-green alga using the Algal Resource Kit.

Finding Open Day a lot to take in? Visitors can even enjoy a 5-minute massage from one of UTS’s Chinese Medicine students.

If you’re keen to find out about a pa thway into UTS, there is a series of talks from Program Managers from UTS Insearch to help.

Or visit us on Level 3, Building 1 – 15 Broadway, Broadway to talk to our students and staff.

If students are looking for fun activities (and snacks to enjoy) during Open Day, look out for fairy floss, popcorn, paddle pop sticks, BBQs and games galore.
